Science Fair

In Thursday folders, I sent home students science fair packets. Please read these carefully and follow the instructions as your students complete their science fair projects. All projects will be completed at home.

Pumpkin

Dear Parents/Guardians,

On Wednesday I sent home a pumpkin note explaining an upcoming project. Please send the note back indicating if you are able to provide a pumpkin for your child. Pumpkins need to be at school by November 4th.

Red Ribbon Week/Canned Food Drive

Dear Families,

This week is red ribbon week! I enjoyed seeing all of the students who wore red today. Red Ribbon Week is to stand up against drugs and show that being drug free is the way to be. There was a letter sent home to remind you of what each day for red ribbon week is. During red ribbon week, we will also be having a canned food drive. If able, please send canned food items with your students.

Monday: I am proud to put a can on drugs- Wear red and bring a canned good
Tuesday: We team up against drugs and bullies- Wear a team jersey or RRE shirt
Wednesday: Drugs are despicable- Wear yellow or something with minions
Thursday: Stomp out drugs- Wear boots
Friday: Drugs can't find me- Wear camouflage

You can bring in canned food items all week long! : )

Parent Conferences

Just a reminder that parent conferences are scheduled for October 10th. I have sent home notes with your scheduled time. I'm looking forward to seeing you there. :)

Pink Health Forms

Parents,
For some reason I thought the health forms had to be signed which is not the case. If you did not sent them back with your child today, please send them back Monday.

Guest Teacher

We had a wonderful guest teacher in our classroom today. Mrs. McKay came in to teach us more about writing workshop. The kids really enjoyed it! 

Grades

Progress reports will be sent home in Thursday Folders. Please note that there are not many grades in the grade book as of yet. I did not take grades the first two weeks of school.

Science Fun!!

For today's science experiment we are measuring and recording temperature using both Fahrenheit and Celsius units. 

REMINDERS

Picture day is on Monday, September 19th. Order forms went home in students take home folders today.

If you have not returned the flu vaccine form, please return as soon as possible. These must be turned in even if you check no.

Float or Sink

We are testing to see if items float or sink in water and vegetable oil. 

Letter Writing

Today we wrote letters to our first responders to thank them for everything they do in honor of first responders day. 

What a Great Week!!

We had a great week in our classroom. We had several friends go home on purple, which is not easy to do! Keep up the great work.

Look under the homework tab to see the homework online.

Remember to check folders on Thursday for any papers being sent home. 

Diez y Seis Assembly is on September 16th. 

If you would like to join PTA, please send a note and I will send home the information you need. 

All shirt orders are due to the front office by noon on Monday September 12th. 

All About Me Bags

Parents/Guardians,

On the all about me bag assignment, I made a mistake on the due date. It said it was due on September 3rd, but it was supposed to be due on the 2nd. I will not take off points for students who did not turn in on Friday. Homework is always due on Friday of the week that it was assigned.

It has been a wonderful first two days of school! I am so excited to be your child's teacher. Please make sure that your child's blue folder is being checked and signed every day. There will be no homework this week! : ) I'm looking forward to a great year!

End of Year

Wow! I can't believe that the end of the school year has arrived already. It sure has flown by. I have just a few reminders for you as we finish up this school year.

5/30- No School (Enjoy your long weekend!)
5/31- Full school day/End of Year Awards
6/1- Last day of school/Class Party/Early Release at 11:50

Fun Times

We have had a lot of fun mixed in with our learning at the end of this school year. We had an awesome field day, field trip and water fair. I hope y'all enjoy the pictures!
